About the event
Harrison Brand is a multi-instrumentalist from Alameda, California who focuses primarily on jazz guitar. He briefly attended Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio, studying under guitarist Bobby Ferrazza, before returning to the Bay Area and ultimately relocating to Santa Cruz. He is currently completing a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from UC Santa Cruz, with a focus on plants. Harrison performs regularly with local jazz groups such as Death and Saxes and the Ken Koenig Group, while duetting with Sebastian Roeder-Hensley and James Brudnick.
James Brudnick has performed Jazz acoustic bass in Santa Cruz and the Monterey Bay area for over 41 years, most notably for 31 years with Don McCaslin, an icon who led the Warmth Band at the Cooperhouse and at Capitola’s Wharfhouse on the pier. At seven, he learned the clarinet, then taught himself Jazz on the guitar and eventually transferred his knowledge to the acoustic…
